Description

A rich and velvety dessert perfect for Easter celebrations, featuring luscious chocolate layers that melt in your mouth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups dark chocolate, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 large eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Chocolate shavings or decorative eggs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks with sugar until pale and thick. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whip the cream with vanilla until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture.
  4. In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture until no streaks remain.
  5. Pour the mousse into a cake pan and chill for at least 4 hours or until set.
  6. Once set, garnish with chocolate shavings or decorative eggs before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled, garnished with a dusting of powdered sugar or fresh berries for added color.
