Description
These cookies combine the rich flavors of crème brûlée with a delightful cookie texture, featuring a crispy caramelized sugar topping and a soft, chewy interior.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper to ensure easy cookie release.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually add to the creamed mixture.
- Fold in the heavy cream gently, ensuring it is well incorporated.
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the lined baking sheets, spaced about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
- Sprinkle a thin layer of granulated sugar on top of each cookie and caramelize using a kitchen torch until golden. Let cool before serving.
Notes
Make sure your butter is fully softened for better mixing. Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies.
