Description

A warm and comforting dish that transforms croissants into a delightful breakfast or brunch with a rich egg mixture, savory cheese, and optional meat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large croissants
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (e.g., Gruyère or cheddar)
  • 1/2 cup cooked ham or bacon, chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish and set it aside.
  2. Tear the croissants into bite-sized pieces and place them in the baking dish. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and heavy cream. Stir in grated cheese and optional cooked meat, season with salt and pepper.
  3. Pour the mixture evenly over croissant pieces and let it sit for 10 minutes to soak. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden and eggs are set.
  4. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, garnish with herbs, and serve warm.

Notes

For an extra crispy top, broil for the last 1-2 minutes of baking. Use stale croissants for a better texture.
