Description

A comforting and easy recipe for beef and broccoli cooked in a crockpot, with a sweet-and-savory sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs beef (flank steak or sirloin), sliced thinly
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, minced garlic, grated ginger, and beef broth until well combined.
  2. Place the thinly sliced beef in the crockpot and pour the sauce over the beef.
  3. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours until the beef is tender.
  4. Add the broccoli florets in the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  5. Serve over cooked rice and enjoy!

Notes

For added flavor, marinate the beef in the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust the sugar to your taste.
