Description

A comforting dish with a rich beef filling encased in a flaky crust, perfect for cozy evenings or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef stew meat, cubed
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 pie crusts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large pot, brown the cubed beef over medium heat until nicely seared on all sides.
  2. Remove the beef and set it aside. In the same pot, add onions, carrots, and potatoes; sauté until softened, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir well. Gradually pour in beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Bring to boil, season with thyme, salt, and pepper. Return beef; simmer for about 10 minutes. Mix in peas.
  4. Pour the mixture into a pie dish, cover with a pie crust, seal edges, and cut slits in the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the crust is golden brown.

Notes

Serve hot, paired with a green salad or buttery bread. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
