Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking sheet.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined. Stir in cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Scoop the dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place them on the baking sheet, spaced about two inches apart.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
- Allow the cookies to cool before transferring to a cooling rack.
- Prepare the icing by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
Notes
For thicker icing, use less milk. You can add nuts for crunch or roll the dough in cinnamon sugar for extra flavor. Watch cookies closely while baking to prevent overcooking.
