Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup holiday-themed M&Ms
- 1 cup oats
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips, M&Ms, oats, and optional ingredients.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spaced about two inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly undercooked.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Use room temperature butter for better texture. Refrigerate dough for thicker cookies, and avoid overbaking.
