Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together until creamy.
  3. Add vanilla extract and almond extract (if using), mixing until fully combined.
  4. Gradually add in the flour and salt, mixing until the dough comes together.
  5. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack before decorating.

Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. Freeze between layers of parchment paper for up to three months.
