Description

An irresistible treat combining sweet, salty, and crunchy elements, perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 package Saltine crackers
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Arrange Saltine crackers in a single layer.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together, stirring continuously until boiling (2-3 minutes).
  3. Let the mixture bubble for another 3 minutes without stirring, then carefully pour it evenly over the Saltine crackers.
  4. Bake for about 5 minutes until bubbly and golden. Remove from the oven, sprinkle chocolate chips on top, allow to soften, and then spread the melted chocolate. If using nuts, sprinkle on top before the chocolate sets. Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
