Description

Rich, chocolatey dessert with gooey indulgence, perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 50g unsalted butter
  • 75g brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 75g all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 150ml heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon molasses or treacle

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease two ramekins.
  2. In a saucepan, melt dark chocolate and unsalted butter over low heat, stirring continuously. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar, then add egg and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the chocolate mixture, stirring until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the ramekins and bake for 15-20 minutes until the tops are set but the insides are soft.
  5. In another saucepan, gently heat cream with molasses until warm, creating a rich toffee sauce.

Notes

Serve warm with rich toffee sauce, whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
