Description

Delicious chocolate muffin cookies that combine the softness of a muffin and the chewiness of a cookie, featuring a surprise burst of cream cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until fluffy, then add the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto the prepared cookie sheet and make an indentation in the center of each.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are firm but the center remains soft.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature butter and high-quality cocoa powder. Store in an airtight container.
