Description

A rich and creamy casserole that combines cheesy mashed potatoes and crispy bacon, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, sour cream, milk, melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Fold in the crumbled bacon into the potato mixture, ensuring it’s distributed evenly.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until heated through and cheese is bubbly.
  5. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving for an added pop of color and flavor.

Notes

For a creamier texture, use freshly made mashed potatoes. You can substitute cheddar cheese with other varieties for different flavors.
