Description

Delightful waffles infused with the warm flavors of chai spices for a unique breakfast experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and whisk in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Lightly grease the waffle iron and pour an appropriate amount of batter onto it. Cook according to manufacturer instructions, about 3-5 minutes per batch.
  6. Carefully remove waffles and serve warm with maple syrup, whipped cream, or fresh fruit.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of brewed chai tea to the batter or chopped nuts for texture. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
