Ingredients

  • 2 cans black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and chopped
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • Juice of 1 lime

Instructions

  1. In a blender or food processor, combine black beans, onion, garlic, jalapeño, sour cream, cumin, chili powder, and lime juice.
  2. Blend until smooth, adding water if necessary to reach desired consistency.
  3. Taste the mixture and add salt as needed to enhance flavor.
  4. Stir in chopped cilantro if using. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.
