- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, garlic, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, black pepper, thyme, and parsley. Mix until just combined; be careful not to over-mix.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
- Spread the additional ketchup on top of the meatloaf and bake for 1 hour or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
Notes
Use 80/20 ground beef for juiciness. Don’t overwork the meat for a tender texture.
