Description

Delightfully fluffy cinnamon rolls filled with brown sugar and cinnamon, topped with a sweet frosting for a perfect breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Stir them together until well blended.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Ensure the mixture is nicely combined and ready to unite with the dry ingredients.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until combined, then knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 16×12 inches). Spread the softened butter over the rectangle, then sprinkle with brown sugar and ground cinnamon evenly.
  6. Starting from one end, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal slices and place them in a greased baking dish.
  7. Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes until puffed.
  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and smelling divine.
  9. While the rolls are baking, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth, creating a drizzle-worthy frosting.
  10. Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls once they come out of the oven. Serve them up, and watch them disappear!

Notes

For a nutty twist, add chopped nuts or raisins into the filling. To add variety, try different spices like nutmeg or cardamom.
