Description
A warm and comforting bowl of oatmeal featuring ripe bananas and rich chocolate chips, perfect for breakfast or a cozy snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups milk (or almond milk)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- Chopped nuts (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the mashed bananas, oats, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Stir well to mix all the ingredients together.
- Over medium heat, bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Cook for about 5 minutes or until the oats are tender and the consistency is creamy. Watch to ensure it doesn’t boil over.
- Once cooked, stir in the chocolate chips and remove from heat. Add honey or maple syrup to taste if desired. Serve warm, topped with chopped nuts or additional chocolate chips if desired.
Notes
Choose ripe bananas for natural sweetness and creaminess. Adjust honey or maple syrup based on your taste preference.
