Description

A comforting pasta dish combining creamy ricotta, tangy marinara, and gooey melted cheese for a delightful baked meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound rigatoni pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the rigatoni according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked rigatoni with marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until evenly coated.
  4. Transfer half of the rigatoni mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese. Layer the remaining rigatoni on top, followed by the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let cool slightly, garnish with basil if desired, and serve.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing in sautéed vegetables or using fresh mozzarella for a creamier texture.
