Description

A delightful treat combining tender fish with a crunchy exterior, perfect for both kids and adults as a quick weeknight dinner or fun snack.

Ingredients

  • White fish fillets (cod, haddock, or tilapia)
  • Flour
  • Eggs
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Paprika
  • Oil (for frying)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • Tartar sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking. If frying, heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  2. Cut fish fillets into strips about an inch wide.
  3. Set up a breading station with flour in the first bowl, beaten eggs in the second, and seasoned breadcrumbs in the third.
  4. Dredge each fish strip in flour, dip it in the beaten eggs, then roll in the breadcrumbs, pressing lightly.
  5. For baking, arrange on a baking sheet, spray with oil, and bake for 15-20 minutes. For frying, cook in hot oil for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Transfer cooked fish sticks to paper towels to drain excess oil and serve hot with lemon wedges and tartar sauce.

Notes

For additional flavor, marinate fish strips in lemon juice before coating. Experiment with spices in the breadcrumbs for different flavor profiles.
