- 6–8 almond croissants, torn into pieces
- 1 cup sliced almonds
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Place the torn croissants in the greased dish and spread them out evenly. Sprinkle the sliced almonds over the croissants.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
- Pour the egg and cream mixture evenly over the croissants and almonds. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and set.
- Allow the cake bars to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Use day-old croissants for best texture and consider adding almond liqueur for extra flavor.
